The Kansas City Chiefs aim for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win, which would also benefit Miami Heat president Pat Riley. Riley trademarked “three-peat” in the 1980s, and the NFL has a deal to use the phrase if the Chiefs win. Riley coined the term as Lakers coach after their back-to-back wins, hoping for a three-peat. Though the Lakers failed, Riley profited when the Bulls three-peated in the 90s, earning $300,000 for the first and $600,000 for the second. Riley states he donates most of the earnings to charity, and licenses the phrase passively for royalties.
